Dec 23, 2008 - i have a DS lite that i found in the street, having apperently been run over by a car. oddly, nothing but the screens is broken.but i saw an ebay tore that sells replacement screens, and the touch screen is sold seperately from the lcd. would i have to buy the bottom screen and the touch screen, or can the lcd be replaced without changing the touch screen?

Dec 24, 2008 - Touch screen and LCD are seperate. They are glued together, but easy to peel apart. They also have seperate ribbon cables. The clip for the touch screen is very delicate and easy to break though.
neomp5 Says:
Dec 24, 2008 - i did fill out a found item report at the police station, but nobody claimed it in 3 months.
neomp5 Says:
Dec 24, 2008 - is it likely that if the bottom lcd is broken, that the touch screen would need replacing as well? i think it was closed when it was crushed (there are scratches on the cover where it was pressed into the pavement, and the part of the case over slot 2 is cracked), so i'd guess that part is the least likely part to be damaged

Jan 7, 2009 - STATIC, my friend one thing you were not warned about is; you need to have an anti static arm band on, or touch metal every so often, you should definatly avoid doing it near carpet, and with socks on.
shigshwa Says:
Jan 8, 2009 - Or novices will usually mess up their DS Lite by breaking the ribbon cable.
