http://www.coloradream.comA look back at a time that brought people together with music, celebration and love! Sure there was lots of sex, drugs and rock & roll...but the true nature of this event was a coming together as one...to experience life to its fullest...a moment in time that will live on forever in our hearts and minds.I came upon a child of godHe was walking along the roadAnd I asked him, where are you goingAnd this he told meIm going on down to yasgurs farmIm going to join in a rock n roll bandIm going to camp out on the landIm going to try an get my soul freeWe are stardustWe are goldenAnd weve got to get ourselvesBack to the gardenThen can I walk beside youI have come here to lose the smogAnd I feel to be a cog in something turningWell maybe it is just the time of yearOr maybe its the time of manI dont know who l amBut you know life is for learningWe are stardustWe are goldenAnd weve got to get ourselvesBack to the gardenBy the time we got to woodstockWe were half a million strongAnd everywhere there was song and celebrationAnd I dreamed I saw the bombersRiding shotgun in the skyAnd they were turning into butterfliesAbove our nationWe are stardustBillion year old carbonWe are goldenCaught in the devils bargainAnd weve got to get ourselvesBack to the garden

Dec 5, 2008 - I would go back in time, just to experience it all. I believe it was one of those times of unity, when everyone just comes together. I wish I could have seen it all.

Dec 18, 2008 - Joni's version is so hauntingly beautiful. I love the organ especially. It feels wrong that these people were (and still are) labeled as "freaks" and "weirdos" and such. Look at society today. Too many of us are too busy watching our backs to see what's in front of us: a remarkable and beautiful world full of God's children. This world needs another hippie movement, and damn soon.

Dec 21, 2008 - (lol) I guess. My screenname is just a mix of Suicidal Tendencies/Judas Priest titles, and I came up with it years ago. Doesn't really mean anything...

Dec 21, 2008 - It's not an organ, it's a Wurlitzer 200A electric piano--and one of the lovliest examples of this instrument being used on a popular recording. Supertramp also makes nice use of this piano in their song: Bloody Well Right.

Dec 30, 2008 - @moorong: Your comment made me smile. Love the irony!Another hippie movement did happen, for a while there in 88-89 in the UK at least. Diverse people from across a nation came together through music in a shared spirit of positivity and love. It burned bright but fleeting. Very real and lifechanging for many who were there however.I wasn't around during the actual hippie movement (born in 72) but I do draw parallels with the 'second summer of love' in the UK at the end of the 80s.
