Dec 2, 2008 - Man bootcamp was so much different than the real Navy.

Dec 3, 2008 - How so??
redSG Says:
Dec 3, 2008 - Bootcamp is so structured and disciplined like a military should be. The real Navy is more like a civilian job that lets you travel the world.

Dec 3, 2008 - I thought in the Navy you go out to sea like every week to every other week and deploy for 6 months?
redSG Says:
Dec 3, 2008 - Yeah you do all that. But it is very casual and not very disciplined at all. If you are looking for discipline in your life, join the Marines.

Dec 27, 2008 - dude, navy enlisted have to go to bootcamp too. obviously being a marine is a lot tougher though. as a midshipman staying in camp pendleton for a week with marine recruits, all i can say is that some of those guys are bitter assholes. i mean, you chose this road, deal with it.

Dec 27, 2008 - Did you read any of my posts? My points are that Navy Bootcamp is very military like, but after you get out of Boot, that all kinda goes away unless your SEAL or SWCC. In the Marines, however, there is better discipline throughout. I was in the Navy.
