At $469.99 (discounted from $599), Donovan's has a good price on the Blade 400. I believe (but could be wrong) that if you mention this video, you will get free shipping too. Donovan's service alone is worth it. This is PART I of my Blade 400 experience. This is definitely not a beginner's helicopter. Let's take a look at it. Remember this....Any Collective Pitch (CP) helicopter is quite a handful. If you want to learn on one, make sure to fly a realistic simulator first. The one voted best is the Aerofly Professional Deluxe. None of my airplane friends can fly the cp helicopters on my Aerofly sim very long. They always fly away and since they do not know how to hover, crash! It is as real as it gets and just like the real thing. If you can't fly the Simulator, then forget the real thing unless you have lots of money for parts and lots of time and patience. Then memorize my 9 helicopter tips, and don't deviate from them. It also helps to have some coordination too, because you have to move both sticks in all directions all the time. There is never a dead moment. But on the other hand, once you got it, you will love it.Remember 96% of the people who try to fly helicopters, give up after a few crashes, and WE ALL CRASH!Enjoy the video and thanks for watching.

Nov 16, 2008 - NightFlyyer, I totally agree. Sorry to sound so harsh, I just meant that what the local hobby store said could have been a bit more clear.14cyproit14 local hobby store said "the helicopter can NOT kill anyone..." That statement sounds false. But it is agreed caution is required as with any thing else.

Nov 17, 2008 - Thanks for this review. As a newcomer to helis I found it facinating & very easy to follow. I'm more used to full size steam locos.Hugh the Railmon

Nov 18, 2008 - Thanks for watching. Full size Locos are pretty hard to fly though! LOL Have you seen my Steam locomotive videos yet? You may like the one called "Model A chases train" and "The best steam locomotive video". Thanks again for your comments.

Dec 8, 2008 - Man, I am amazed, the Blade 400 is nearly the exact same as my Twister 3D storm, except that the battery goes into the slot where the esc is on the Blade. Great vid, Lincoln.
NightFlyyer Says:
Dec 8, 2008 - Thanks. Yep the batteries locations are similar for sure on all 3D helis. Seen my Blue Ray video yet?

Dec 16, 2008 - can you teach us newbies how to install lights on the CX 2?
NightFlyyer Says:
Dec 17, 2008 - Put a red led on the left skic, a Green led on the right skid and red blinker LED on the tail That is the standard Configuration for lights. I dont have a CX2 to do it with, but I have other videos up on lighting and night flying. Good luck,

Dec 27, 2008 - hi, I really like your videos. I just got a blade 400 and I am going to take it for my first hover very soon. Any tips on the first hover? I trained on the cx2 for about 1 year.

Dec 30, 2008 - do you like your blade 400 or your blue ray better?
NightFlyyer Says:
Dec 30, 2008 - The blade is nice for easy flying and the radio is the best. But the Blue Ray is really strong and can do some incredible stuff. There both favorites.
NightFlyyer Says:
Dec 30, 2008 - Yes, except there is no pucker factor.

Jan 2, 2009 - i dont like that the blade 400 charger comes with only a 12 v only....there is no ac adapter. i had to use mine, so not an extreme big deal but still.......ive toyed with the cp pro and an old school gas powered kalt. im still reading the manual on the controller radio...its very long. cant wait to get some test flights in and test the wind tolerance w/ this heli
NightFlyyer Says:
Jan 5, 2009 - Yes, it would be nicer with a charger and wall adapter for sure. Good luck and happy flying.

NightFlyyer Says:
Nov 16, 2008 - Yep, they are good. I just liked this one for the radio it came with too.
