Aug 28, 2008 - How sad this is, to see a culture of pure and moral people corrupted by mainstream society.

Postitsaresticky Says:

Aug 31, 2008 - i guess wen their 16 they can choose??

rabbatop Says:

Sep 4, 2008 - This is true. You could be a really bad person, but if G-d see's you have even a little light in your soul you will go unto the light.

rabbatop Says:

Sep 4, 2008 - Oh really!!! Wibbeldy wobbeldy.

Pannef Says:

Sep 6, 2008 - I like that the Amish seem to place an emphasis on choice. That they purposefully expose their kids to the outside world at 16 so that they fully realize what they would be giving up if they decided to dedicate themselves to the Amish way of life is uplifting. All too often you see Christians trying to force their kids into things, so it's nice to know that some still remember the importance of free will. Forced servitude isn't loyalty.

kokomotoXDgirl Says:

Sep 8, 2008 - that'd be strange, seeing an amish person at a rock concert :P

sleepy1238 Says:

Sep 21, 2008 - RipptheJacker, maybe you really dont know too much about the Amish, there are allowed to use anything that isnt connecting to cords, such as power lines, phone lines etc, and im sure the radio she was listening to was battery powered, not electricity. I live in Lancaster Pa, and you will see them using gas weed eaters, gas lawn mowers etc. They "dont believe in being connected to the outside world"..get your facts straight

1CarlyD Says:

Sep 24, 2008 - They seem more like a hudderite colony (a Canadian german amish type group) they have vehicles, and cell phones and credit cards, but they dress in those dresses.

TheBlasphemer2875 Says:

Sep 25, 2008 - Corrupted by rock music and some tobacco. It's not sad. Its the only religion that really allows the children a choice.

Felynvrae Says:

Sep 30, 2008 - They spoke german there for a sec(1:34) so it might just be.

grtwhitehntr Says:

Oct 1, 2008 - i am former amish and i can tell you that when you are 16 you DO NOT have a choice unless you just take the initiative and leave..the amish church and parents try to and often do force the young people to join the church with with dire threats of what will happen to them in the afterlife if they don't join

grtwhitehntr Says:

Oct 1, 2008 - in reply to 1carlyD..those kids realy are amish or ex-amish from northern indiana, i used to know the guy thats talking about going to the mall at :50 and i have watched the whole movie called "The Devil's Playground" and i knew a few of the kids in it from when i lived in indiana a few years ago

Chazerbaijann Says:

Oct 7, 2008 - Amish is cool cause they give u a choice but not so cool because it is so damn old school

lenamay521 Says:

Oct 8, 2008 - I first saw this On Demand the other night, and I really like it. It's interesting. I was laughing though when they said the cops raided the house of some Amish drug dealers or something like that. LOL I couldn't imagine an Amish person selling drugs.LOL

lenamay521 Says:

Oct 8, 2008 - KKLloyd, I laughed at that too when that boy said 'Going to the mall was always my dream.' LOL It's crazy how little things to us are everything to them because they've been so sheltered their whole lives from the outside world.

MD71407 Says:

Oct 17, 2008 - I think its kind of weird how all these kids do is party. Thats not a life of a typical English teenager. Sure we party at times, but we have more things to worry about than getting high or getting drunk. Their life style is a choice and respect that but I personally cant imagine living that life style. I give props to them for living their lives like that. WOW!

nornic Says:

Oct 21, 2008 - icelanders are like that

ellens1994 Says:

Oct 25, 2008 - whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat ?Icelanders are nothing like thad !I'm from iceland and wee are just normal like people from danmark, you asshole

lilsteller Says:

Nov 1, 2008 - I just watched this whole show and have to say they over exagerate Rumspringa. Many Amish never even leave the community to try rumspringa. And the ones that do, do not act like this show partrays them if they decide to adventure out into the world.Partying and drugs is not what Rumspringa is about. There is more to childhood then those things. Its a good show for a audience. If they would have made this show on the reality of Rumspringa, I guess it would be to boring to air.

halfjilly Says:

Nov 5, 2008 - This was a movie not a show, so it didn't need to air or have a good audience. And yes you are correct that a lot of young Amish do not leave the community, but these people in this movie are not actors, and it is not staged. It's a documentory, everything shown is true without exageration.

snovazanovo Says:

Dec 7, 2008 - uhhh no, they're not.:)

TTRocka Says:

Dec 11, 2008 - What the fuck is wrong with these amish people?!?!?

GershomTalua Says:

Dec 13, 2008 - the Amish were right to stay back in time...all we have done is become mindless overstimulated puppets for the new world order.

hannahhazlehurst Says:

Dec 31, 2008 - i had to watch this at school

mooglely Says:

Dec 31, 2008 - Damn, the Amish kids have better connections than me
