Dec 27, 2008 - only way you can get a hunting license for a crossbow is if you have some kind of disability (or atleast thats how it is where I live). Go with a compound bow. I just got a Browning Rage and I love it. Go to bass pro, cabelas, somewhere like that and talk to the people there. Maybe try a few out. Then get it adjusted and set up. Youl love it.

Dec 29, 2008 - I would say crossbow because you can aim easier. Then again, I'm not sure!

Dec 30, 2008 - crossbows are more powerful and take longer to reload. but regular bows are easier to handel and reload. personally i would use a normal bow.

Jan 1, 2009 - Depends on where you live. Crossbows are illeagle in alot of states. But, they are pritty good. If they are illeagle than your next options are compound, recurve, or long. Those are the most used for hunting. Compounds are kind of complicated to use so if your just starting I would recamend you learn on a recurve or long. I don't like long bows. They dont pack a good punch. Recurves are okay, If you get a 45-50 lb draw than you can take on boar and deer with it. But, its all a matter of opinion.
popers25 Says:
Jan 1, 2009 - Haha, every one calls me crazy. They say shotguns are under powerd for deer hunting. I use 10 and a 12 gauge single shots. I've bagedmore deer with the 12 than I have with all the other guns Ive ever used. I rarely use the 10 gauge because ammo for it is rare and high on cost. I'm thinking about trading it in for a 16 or 20 gauge. But yeah, I like using shotguns because I always worry about stray bullets. And a shotgun cant carry as far as say a .300 magnum. Or any rifle for that matter

Jan 3, 2009 - I hunt because I enjoy the chase. Killing is an anticlimatic end to the hunt, I don't hunt to kill things. I relish wildgame as a meal, and I enjoy the hunting fraternity, but I hunt because I enjoy the chase, the thill of enlivening my the part of my DNA that for 250,000 years has been a hunter. It is a primordial passion that lights the fire inside and has yet to quench my hunting thirst.

Dec 23, 2008 - it is a nice shot and the only reason we use guns is because we can actually take the recoil
