Jan 6, 2009 - 'The military doesn't allow the pilots to show even half of the capabilities of this plane in an air show because its considered classified'Of course its not classified. The F22 cannot show any more simply because it cannot. Why not try reading some US government GAO reports on the F22 program indicating problems with;CorrosionOverheating enginesStructural problems of vertical stabilsers Cracked canopiesUnreliable and over heating avionicsUnderpowered design due to weight
AmFearLiathMor Says:
Jan 6, 2009 - Cont;Unreliable AIM-120C electronics due to F22 vibration issuesTransonic engine surging relating again to poor aerodynamicsLack of full IRSTLack of Helmet Mounted Weapons SightOverheating rear structural issues limiting early F22 to 500mphForward boom structural issue due to poor heat treatment of the titanium materials in early F22 batches affecting airframe lifetimesLack of an effective current IR missile which is countermeasure resistant.Outdated Pilot interface.

Jan 7, 2009 - F22 forever
Nigralurker Says:
Jan 7, 2009 - F-18 is an American aircraft....created back in 1978. It's old, it's in need of replacement.
griffmasterchris Says:
Jan 7, 2009 - See what gets me when reading all these comments is that the F 22 is a man made marvel but at the same time a pile of shit. Why dont people just accept that much like the F4 in Nam this plane is pretty sweet, but like all aircraft this will be shit in the next five years when they bring out better aircraft, i mean look at what NASA is creating, but i dont wanna argue with anyone over my comment, i like the raptor, an impressive machine, but soon enough it will be replaced with smarter machines
Raptor03042 Says:
Jan 7, 2009 - AmFearLiathMor,I don't have the time or desire to argue the truth and relevance of all the points you're listed. Some are actual concerns, but have been, or are being addressed. The rest are either non-issues, or false. You'd do well to note what most people with actual firsthand knowledge, and insight into the abilities of F-22s have to say about it, instead of searching for anything negative you can find.
Raptor03042 Says:
Jan 7, 2009 - You aren't an idiot, like most YouTube commentators, but you are biased, and less knowledgeable than you'd like to think.
Raptor03042 Says:
Jan 7, 2009 - "...like all aircraft this will be shit in the next five years when they bring out better aircraft..."It'll be at least 15 years or so before there is anything as capable at air superiority, and even then it'll still be a good while before the F-22 is outdated to the point of being worthless.
Hellslayer65 Says:
Jan 7, 2009 - Then go get your other fighter jet and face it yourself and see what happens.

Jan 8, 2009 - I love the "experts" that post all their comments. Go back to playing Ace Combat and let the air force decide.

Jan 8, 2009 - AmFearLiathMor:First, you're stupid.Second, none of the problems you list are problems anymore. These are all developmental report logs, and 10+ years old. The F-22 doesn't even USE the AIM-120C. It uses NEW, AMRAAM. AIM-120D. All enemies in its range should be scared. It HAS helmet mounted targeting. Raptor has no pitot boom. ONLY YF-22 test plane had these. You aren't even stupid. You're a dinglehopper. Most weapons, maneuvers, avionics, electronics on it ARE CLASSIFIED! F-22. MADE IN USA!
MrPikon Says:
Jan 8, 2009 - "The F-22 doesn't even USE the AIM-120C. It uses NEW, AMRAAM. AIM-120D."No it doesn't, integration of both the AIM-120D and AIM-9X will happen in the Raptor's Increment 3.2 update in 2012-2013."It HAS helmet mounted targeting."No it doesn't, nor is it likely to be added in the near future.
MrPikon Says:
Jan 8, 2009 - "The F-22 beat the typhoon in operation red flag, the F-22 is king of the skies." The F-22 may well turn out to be king of the skies, but it still can't beat the Typhoon at Red flag until the Typhoon actually flies at Red Flag. ;)
hawkeyeriggs5000 Says:
Jan 8, 2009 - Obviously, a russian spy, trying to deflate all that is F-22. Little does he know, I've told Raptor about this particular incident, and he is being closely watched by F-22. F-22 always buys girl scouts cookies. F-22 won blue ribbon in county fair chili cook-off. F-22 shaves every morning, and brushes teeth before bed. F-22, however, would beat up Su-37 and take its lunch money. F-22 always tips heavily. F-22 has "Domination" tattoo on right-wing. F-22 reads stories to hospitalized children. F-22
hawkeyeriggs5000 Says:
Jan 8, 2009 - There's a picture of the JSF helmet out there, and with no conclusive proof, I assume that if it works for JSF (being based on an F-22 concept) that it would also be in Raptor. I'm not apologizing for a mistake, but making an educated guess about this one item. All other facts I stated about F-22 are true and correct, such as: F-22 perfects recipe for peanut brittle, and borscht. F-22 delivered injured boys' newspapers. F-22 is super-absorbent. F-22 holds WWE Inter-Continental Wrestling title.

Jan 8, 2009 - why don't people stop trying to be experts and just apreciate the video.... its awesome :)
MrPikon Says:
Jan 8, 2009 - "There's a picture of the JSF helmet out there, and with no conclusive proof, I assume that if it works for JSF (being based on an F-22 concept) that it would also be in Raptor."If only it were that simple !Cost is the biggest factor, but there are apparently also technical issues with mapping the F-22 cockpit for a head tracking system; so it's not as simple as it sounds unfortunately. It could be that in future a system derived from the F-35's HMDS is integrated though ?.
stahlwerke Says:
Jan 8, 2009 - Just like it. Because you paid for it.None of your expert opinion is going to change that, the choise was made by people who actually have power. They decide. You pay. Now clap, please.

Jan 8, 2009 - 'Raptor has no pitot boom. ONLY YF-22 test plane had these. You aren't even stupid. You're a dinglehopper.'ww w. military. com /features / 0 ,15240 ,96097, 00. h tmlI was refering to the failure to heat treat properly the titanium 'forward boom frames' which was discovered 3 years ago (not 10+ years) and affects half of the F22 production A/C currently in service with the USAF. 'MADE IN USA!'You may even get a surprise where the seekers for the AIM-120C/D are made..LOL..
AmFearLiathMor Says:
Jan 8, 2009 - 'and affects half of the F22 production A/C currently in service with the USAF.'Oops should be half of the F22 production A/C when all the F22s are delivered to the USAF.
AmFearLiathMor Says:
Jan 8, 2009 - It could be that in future a system derived from the F-35's HMDS is integrated though ?.This is very doubtful. This would also need a full IRST which was explicitly refused additional cash by the US congress because of the silly amounts of cash spent on the F22 already. Plus the huge additional engineering problems attempted to add an IRST + HMDS system to what is effectively a closed integrated avionics system rather than having a federated system. Sensor fusion has to designed from scratch
cvire1971 Says:
Jan 8, 2009 - The [lane was american the engine was based of the british merlin engine. do you research douchebag. oh and cricket is a bitches game . do to the bounce before the hit. there are pitchers here who throw at 100mph plus. again do your research. The f22 is acknowledged world wide as the best plane in the sky .even your gov is trying to pressure our congres to release it for sale. The euroturd barley competes with the superhornet. which is takih=ng sales away for it.
SangheiliSniper11 Says:
Jan 8, 2009 - "The F-22 may well turn out to be king of the skies, but it still can't beat the Typhoon at Red flag until the Typhoon actually flies at Red Flag. ;)"The typhoon flew in the last two operation red flags. ;)
SangheiliSniper11 Says:
Jan 8, 2009 - And the f-22 beat it.

nimaside Says:
Jan 6, 2009 - Its just exhausting reading all the ignorant crap comments for this video so I'll just leave it at this. This aircraft is the most advanced aircraft in the World hands down. You typhoon fans...yeah you have a nice new little quick aircraft that is wonderfull in many aspects. But, it just doesnt compare to this. Right now nothing does.
