November 2007To believers, Nepal's child goddesses or Kumaris can bestow luck with a glance. But when these children grow up, returning to normal life is virtually impossible.Girls selected as Kumaris must be aged between two and four and satisfy all the conditions of '32 perfections'. For a few short years, "all Nepalese people worship them" states one woman. But as soon as they experience their first menstruation, they lose their goddess status.

Oct 25, 2008 - Iam from Nepal and i have even talked to her.She is happy with it and that doesent mean she has to spend her whole life in her four walls. She is allowed to go school, and live with normal people. its just till her puberty. Why you even care about her and watch the video if you are against her.and please dont use bad words.if you are against her then you are against to our culture and nepal peoples bilief.

Oct 25, 2008 - how can they just take a girl and make her into a god and like worship her.....the idea doesnt make sense......

darwaishmughni Says:

Oct 27, 2008 - Hey geodesicks, i dun want to start a religion war, but do think before you write, first study something than criticse it, you can say any thing abt ur religion but dont say anything about Islam, Islam is a very very logical religion, it has natural core unlike other religions and it doesn't allows insanity like this.

THHK4 Says:

Oct 27, 2008 - exactly thats why jesus is fake

geodesicks Says:

Oct 27, 2008 - A religion that believes in djinns, angels, a personal god is a very logical religion? There is no scientific evidence for them any more than we have scientific evidence for fairies and leprechauns. Islam is one of the three Abrahamic religions and they are the most shallow, irrational and cruel religions in the world. Read your Koran. One doesn't have to look around much in the world to see how much insanity Islam allows. You have to be self-deluded to say otherwise. Fuck Islam, its a curse.

mbpk7 Says:

Oct 27, 2008 - what that have to do with this video and the kumari????? i know its a free country and all but thats kind of mean

geodesicks Says:

Oct 27, 2008 - I was replying to darwaishmughni who was trying to preempt any attack on Islam by calling it a "very very logical religion" unlike Hinduism. :)

Nov 6, 2008 - education is the key.also, freer and open communication on the possibility that each life, including the girl's holds in the 21st century.

sufireed Says:

LalaluvsBarnes Says:

Nov 26, 2008 - All religions aren't logical, none are more crazy than the other when you think about it.The only "religion" that would be logical would be Atheism because they literally look at everything logicallyAnd have some respect. You can't just say "Fuck Islam" You don't know why people follow islam unless you are a follower of islam yourself so don't talk about you don't know fully.p.s. No i am not muslim. I'm sick of people talking crap about things they dont fully know about.

LalaluvsBarnes Says:

Nov 26, 2008 - This is a really good vid.THANKS

geodesicks Says:

Nov 26, 2008 - Atheism is not a religion. Its just lack of belief in a deity, any deity. There are no direct moral corollaries, no scriptures -- its just a philosophical position.I did follow Islam for a brief period. And it didn't really earn my respect. It is a set of primitive beliefs in the supernatural and the afterlife and one doesn't really have to look around too much in the world today to see how that is playing out.Why afford beliefs a-priori respect in the first place? Make them earn it.

LalaluvsBarnes Says:

Nov 29, 2008 - amen to that!

ghosari Says:

ReBeLxHiNaTa Says:

Dec 17, 2008 - i feel bad for her. she doesnt look happy at all..how do they know she's the incarnation of that goddess?

die4gooners Says:

Jan 6, 2009 - there are thousand of things in nepal which is beyond today's scientific world, these sciences will take ages to get to know the reasons behind such things, kumari is also one of them, there has been a very interesting story behind becoming kumari, no all girls can become kumari, and when a girl is chosen to be kumari then she atumatically gets the spiritual power, its something else.

die4gooners Says:

Jan 6, 2009 - i really thank you for posting this video, it really reminds me where i belong to and how much pride i have .
