Dec 30, 2008 - GM keeps saying "its an electric vehicle"yeah an electric vehicle with a 1.4 liter gasoline engine is a HYBRID !!remove the gasoline engine and its an electric vehicle

xBeAGoodPersonx Says:

Dec 30, 2008 - 640 mile range is awesome. "An engine generator to make more electricity". "Burning a little bit of fuel to make more electricity". I want to know if the fuel used on the Volt can be clean fuel. When compared with many cars including the Volt, all electric cars are less expensive to own in meaning of "filling up" and they are better for the environment. But if clean fuel cells can be used to charge up the battery, the Chevy Volt will be a competitor to all electric.

Jan 1, 2009 - the biggest problem with GM is their pricing that is why Toyota is so far ahead drop the price !!!!

rickras20 Says:

Jan 2, 2009 - They say its an electric car. No. It is a hybrid, because you still have to put gas in it, and you still have an exhaust pipe. Why can't they bring back the EV1? Because they are stupid. I'm for GM. I own two gm vehicles, and I have never strayed away from GM. But come on, a twelve year old could provide better economical ideas then these guys. They just need to think about what people want. I'm not saying kill all Suburbans. I would die without mine, but at least provide alternatives.

assman255 Says:

Jan 2, 2009 - crystler is coming out with an electric 4door jeep. hybrid then electric with gas powered generater is better but i'll wait a couple years and see whats up i bought a 1200 sporty after filling up my gmc $94 for 1 tankso i'm all for electric but i'm in college and couldn't get financed for anything new now anyway so in 2 or so years maybe then for me

rdab700 Says:

Jan 3, 2009 - It's an electric vehicule (with extended range). A Toyota Pirus is what you call an hybrid, because it can't run on electric only. Some recent comes closes to an electric vehicule because they can run using the electric engine up to a certain speed. But the Chevy Volt still unique in its kind. It's a truely electric car that uses gaz only when it runs out of electricity. The EV1 is heavy and uses "old" battery technology.

scott08jkx Says:

Jan 3, 2009 - it is not a hybrid. the definition of a hybrid means 2 different methods of propulsion. the gas engine does not propel the car. the wheels are completely driven by electricity. all the gas engine does is runs a generator to charge the batteries. READ A DAMN BOOK BEFORE YOU POST!!!

jjmturbo69 Says:

Jan 4, 2009 - rickras20 I don't think you are aware of what the term hybrid vehicle means.I think you should listen to the comments made by rdab700/ and scott08jkx they are correct on there input you are not.

rickras20 Says:

Jan 4, 2009 - Thank you for correcting me, and I see now.

Jan 4, 2009 - Why so hostile?

floorwalker6 Says:

Jan 4, 2009 - DONT WORRY ITS GONNA SUCK ITS FROM GM AND GM IS FOR ALL THE FUKERS AT THE OIL COMPANIES HENCE THE GAS ENGINE THAT CHARGES THE ELECTRIC. retarded.

20PhantoM07 Says:

Jan 4, 2009 - NO that was a retarded comment, GM all the way =]

Colbsdotcom Says:

Jan 5, 2009 - I doubt this car will ever be made. It's due to be released in 2010? If they really wanted to make it they could do it now, since they already had a plugin EV-1 years ago. This is why the American car companies are in such trouble. They just don't know how to business anymore in the modern world.

stealthcorvette Says:

Jan 6, 2009 - i'd rather stick with gas. give the battery cars to grannies and tree huggers

NomoGMPG Says:

Jan 8, 2009 - The EV-1 was an enviromental hazard due to its NiMH batteries, and a huge liabilty hazard. The greenies were in an uproar over a Bhopal type accident being highly probable. (Most of you probably don't remember that little incident that cost Union Carbide BILLIONS in lawsuits). That is why the EV-1 was killed, not to mention it had an extremely long recharge time to go just 90 miles on a charge.

csrocker101 Says:

Jan 8, 2009 - 40 miles??? That's it?! The EV-1 could go 90 miles on one charge. We're nearly a decade past the development of the EV-1 and the millage of the battery can only get half that of the Ev-1..god no wonder GM is going bankrupt.

usa1america Says:

Jan 8, 2009 - Fuck Jap and Korean cars!American Pride!White Power!!
