Sep 28, 2008 - This SMART car held up better than most other cars do, in a 70 mph crash. Most times, the doors are unable to open in a regular sedan and then you'd be trapped inside a car that's possibly on fire, then burn to death. This video clip has actually made me consider owning a SMART car now because of its great impact strength. I barely survived a Suzuki Samurai wreck,that left the vehicle looking like a crushed Coke can.Luckily I was thrown out of the vehicle, due to faulty seat belts & I survived.

Sep 28, 2008 - I think this SMART car held up better than most would,in a smash @ 70mph!Most cars have the doors jammed in,in an accident slower than 70 mph!A Suzuki Smaurai would CRUSH you inside the vehicle,completely CRUSH you!OldVW bugs are even worse.I am definitely convinced that the SMART car is safer than most others,& I am 6'3"!I have been in many car accidents & this crash test has very much impressed me.You people that doubt me,need to do some research on how well other cars hold up in a crash test.

A larger car's "crumple zone" doesn't make a difference compared to the smart car. Your best defense is to avoid high impact crashes, not to "drive a tank" - hitting a barrier at 70 mph in an SUV or hummer will have the same chance of killing you in a smart car.
