Aug 4, 2008 - Since I do not study in America, and really hope to never have to live there for any length of time, it is unlikely I will ever even enroll for an EIT program. My plan is to work for a year once I graduate, and then study to become a Chartered Engineer whilst working. Whilst I agree, as engineers decisions must be black and white, that does not mean my opinions have to be, and it would be foolish of me to allow my opinions to interfere with my profession.

Aug 4, 2008 - What is a "Chartered Engineer"?In the US, until you have worked in the engineering field for 3 years out of college and then take the EIT test and take the P.E. test to get a license (P.E.=Professional License) to practice any real engineering, you are NOT a real Engineer and unable to sign off on anything.
