Thanks to Rustyfan for this great capture. In 1960 Daytona Superspeedway hosted this sportsman race. 68 cars entered into the race, back then there were a maximum of 68 cars in a superspeedway race. Coming out of turn four 37 cars get into a massive wreck where at least six cars get on their roofs. Amazingly, evryone walked away from this.

Aug 22, 2008 - that is Inside Diameter Bore which would be the diameter of a opening such as where the pistons goes, thats where the tech comment of " Bore/Stroke " come from thats how big the diameter of the cylinders are and the stroke is how far the piston/connecting rod/crankshaft assembly moves up and down.

Unless your a idiot and your going to a drag strip or ordering Sunoco nascar octane fuel and running it in a stock street engine which will result in the engine burning up/blowing up because that kind of fuel burns hotter than what you get at the fuel pumps.

Sep 2, 2008 - Its oil but its not taken from the same part of the oil as pump gas is, they cook the oil longer, if you cook oil at different temps or different lengths of time it yields different produts from diesel fuel, to gasoline to avaviation fuel, to plastics, ect. So to say nascar is wasting out fuel is kinda ignorant statement because they are using part of the oil that isnt used for pump gas fuel use.

Sep 2, 2008 - its not really a waste because those parts are specialty parts that doesnt effect consumer market. As I stated above to a reply the fuel that is used in nascar doesnt effect the fuel use for consumer vehicles from gas stations.

Aug 22, 2008 - The Micrometer is used for measuring thickness for mechanical parts such as engine building, transmission building, rear axle building,ect you wouldnt use it for fender measuring but it could be used to measure fenders though in the sense of measuring body thickness but I would use them for measuring bearings, measuring a snap gauges to measure a ID bore, or measuring the piston in relation to a snap gauge to the ID of the piston bore to get the clearance,ect.
