May 13, 2008 - Really great! Colors are wonderful so it gets the right "film look" - I was just wondering what exactly you had done to get that "film frame rate"? It really looks like a serious movie. ;) Thank you for your answer and keep up the good work!
tebbutttt Says:
May 13, 2008 - The camera has a built in "cineframe" mode, and that's just a fancy word for 24p.Your everyday camera shoots 60 frames per second, but this camera, along with other semi pro cameras you can shoot in 24 frames per second tore-create that film like footage.
rosnos12345 Says:
May 14, 2008 - You can shoot in 24 frames per second using Sony HDR-FX1? I read a lot of reviews and the fact they hated the most about this camera was its inability to shoot in 24p (unlike Panasonic AG-DVX100A, etc.) - and the "cineframe" is not a true 24p, is it? Thank you.
tebbutttt Says:
May 14, 2008 - No it's not TRUE.Yeah, but the footage still looks great inmy opinion. You can't notice a difference, unlessyou want to film a hollywood film, then buya 50,000 dollar camera with true 24p.and record to film.haha, but this camera is less than 3 grandand it's excellent.

May 26, 2008 - I've got just one more problem I think you might be able to help me with - I can't set the exposure using "Iris" the way I would like... What I miss is a simple "exposure lock" button that even my old camera included. Even if I set the exposure correctly, it changes when I for example look at the light, etc. - and even if the "Hold" function is used. Could you help me? Thanks a lot.

Jun 1, 2008 - the video looks ok. but the compression makes the footage look like crap.
tebbutttt Says:
Jun 1, 2008 - i agree
ratkins0687 Says:
Jun 24, 2008 - If you keep it in manual, or set it to "lock" it should work fine.
ratkins0687 Says:
Jun 24, 2008 - Well, its a MiniDV camera so its only really oing to record at true 3o fps. Although it has a Film look mode that simulates 24p, and in my mind does it very well. Think of it as a faked 24 frames, but a good faked. It does this mode very well.
IDillon0 Says:
Jun 28, 2008 - Is it better to have more or less fps? i thought it was better to have more. But i looked at the comments and it doesnt seem like that.
colinpetersofficial Says:
Jun 28, 2008 - Films are shot on 24 frames per secondTV is more like 60.You can tell the difference obviously, those are the two standards. But it's not really better to have more or less.you obviously don't want anything less than 24 cause everything will look blurry and shakeyand more doesn't really change anything.so just see what looks the best i guess.
ratkins0687 Says:
Jul 15, 2008 - Just out of curiosity, how would you compare the FX1's Cineframe 24p to actual or professional 24p?Also, what to you capture, edit, and output with as well as your file format settings? I've been toying around with the Cineframe 24p as well - I own the HDR-FX1 myself.

Oct 19, 2008 - good workwhat is the name of this song?
MrOMontez Says:
Oct 27, 2008 - What is the Sony i.Link system all about? Is it just a fancy name for Firewire or do you need an interface to use it with Mac.
tebbutttt Says:
Oct 27, 2008 - Yeah it's pretty much a fancy name for firewire. It's the same for PC or MAC.But the neat thing about the FX1 is that ifyou shoot in HD, you can convert it to DV with this ilink thing
MrOMontez Says:
Oct 27, 2008 - Thanks buddy you really put my mind at ease after purchase. The i.Link iterface is like £900.
BlueIzzzs Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Could you point out the difference between the HDR-FX1 and the HDR-SRX version? Which one you think has better image quality once transfered to the computer?TIA
tebbutttt Says:
Nov 19, 2008 - The quality is all up to you.Whether you want to make the resolution big.You choose the quality, whether it's 100 % (then the video will be a big file size)SO it's all up to you in the Exporting video stage.

tebbutttt Says:
Mar 31, 2008 - hmmm, maybe 5 or 6 pounds.
